AJHL Resumes Play with Exhibition Season

October 2nd, 2020 @ 11:41 am

The Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) will open the 2020 Exhibition Season on Friday, October 9th.  The League is currently restricted to two-team cohorts under regulations as determined by the Government of Alberta.

The first series of exhibition play will feature the following match-ups:

  • Drumheller Dragons vs Camrose Kodiaks
  • Brooks Bandits vs Okotoks Oilers
  • Calgary Canucks vs Olds Grizzlys
  • Spruce Grove Saints vs Drayton Valley Thunder
  • Grande Prairie Storm vs Whitecourt Wolverines
  • Sherwood Park Crusaders vs Lloydminster Bobcats
  • Bonnyville Pontiacs vs Fort McMurray Oil Barons

A full schedule is available on AJHL.ca and all team websites.  Arena capacity limits, social distancing protocols within the facility, and the ticket sales process will be dictated by the regulations within each community and the respective team.

No League Passes will be accepted for entry, including all AJHL and CJHL accreditation, until facility capacity limits are increased.

The AJHL Exhibition Season outline meets the current health and safety requirements of the Government of Alberta and aligns with Hockey Canada’s Return to Hockey Safety Guidelines and Hockey Alberta’s Return to Hockey Plan in focusing on the safety and wellbeing of all participants and spectators.

A decision on the next series of exhibition play and the AJHL Regular Season will be dependent on the expansion of cohorts and increase in facility capacity limits as determined by the Government of Alberta.  The Alberta Junior Hockey League is poised to immediately commence regular season competition when Provincial regulations allow.

The 2020 AJHL Exhibition Season will be broadcast on HockeyTV.com - Annual Passes are now available to AJHL fans at an $80-discount through each team.
