The 2014 AJHL Exhibition Season will include 45-games, beginning tonight with games in the AJHL communities of Brooks and Lloydminster. Tonight’s match-up in Brooks will be a re-match of the 2014 AJHL South Division Finals as they host the Drumheller Dragons. The Bonnyville Pontiacs will travel to Lloydminster to open their Pre-Season.
The 2014 AJHL Pre-Season Schedule includes four mini tournaments hosted by the Camrose Kodiaks, Okotoks Oilers and Calgary Canucks, and also includes games outside of AJHL arenas and versus inter-league opponents. The Camrose Kodiaks have introduced an international component to the Exhibition Season by hosting the Denmark National Junior Team in a tournament with three AJHL opponents (Bonnyville, Lloydminster, Camrose). The unique competition will be a thrilling close to the Pre-Season for the participating AJHL teams, fans and scouts.
The dates and host teams for each of the Pre-Season Tournaments is as follows: Camrose Kodiaks (August 25th-27th), Okotoks Oilers (August 28th-30th), Calgary Canucks (August 29th-31st) and Camrose Kodiaks International Tournament (August 29th -31st). All 16 AJHL teams will be in action throughout the 2014 Labour Day Weekend with 19 games on the schedule.
The Drumheller Dragons will continue their tradition with the Kindersley Clippers of the SJHL by hosting a pre-season game against the SJHL rival on September 2nd in Drumheller. Grande Prairie and Drayton Valley take the excitement of AJHL hockey to the town of High Level, Alberta with consecutive games on August 29th and 30th.

The AJHL Regular Season will open on Friday, September 5th, 2014 and conclude after 480 games on February 28th, 2015.
