The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is Conner Radke of the Calgary Canucks. The 2006-born forward led the AJHL from November 24th-30th with six points (3G, 3A) over three games.
Conner Radke (Langdon, AB) scored two goals, including his fourth game winner of the season, in a 5-2 final over the visiting Olds Grizzlys on November 26th. He recorded his 12th goal of the season in a 6-3 road loss to the Drumheller Dragons on November 29th before racking up three assists in a 5-0 rematch versus Olds on November 30th.
Radke is in the Top 15 of AJHL Scoring Leaders with 26 points (12G, 14A) in 19 regular season games. The Canucks are just one point back of the Camrose Kodiaks for first place in the Bunge AJHL South Division.
Defenceman Esteban Cinq-Mars is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week with multi-point games in two wins for the Lloydminster Bobcats.
The 19 year-old scored the game winning goal and added an assist in a 4-3 road win against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons on November 25th. Cinq-Mars was then selected as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game after adding assists on both Bobcat goals on November 29th in a 2-1 win over the division leading Whitecourt Wolverines.
With 18 points (4G, 14A) in 21 games played, Esteban is fourth among all AJHL defencemen and tied for third in team scoring. The Bobcats defence have allowed the second fewest goals against in the AJHL and are second in the Bunge AJHL North Division with a record of 15-7-0-1.
For a second time this season, Ben Deacon of the Devon Xtreme is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week. The 18-year-old forward led all rookies with five points (3G, 2A) last week in two multi-point games.
Deacon (St Albert, AB) and the Xtreme opened their weekend road trip with a 7-2 win in Fort McMurray. Ben scored two goals and an assist in the victory. The following night, he scored his 14th goal of the season and added an assist in a 5-4 loss to the Pontiacs in Bonnyville. Ben Deacon is second in the AJHL Rookie Scoring Race with 23 points (14G, 9A) in 20 games played.
