â??The Calgary Mustangs are pleased to announce that 20 year old defenceman Brandon Halls has committed to Concordia University College of Alberta for 2014-15. The Thunder compete in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference and are led by Head Coach Dan Glegloff.
A resident Calgarian, Brandon began playing hockey in the Springbank Minor Hockey Association before moving onto the Edge School for Athletes.
Head Coach Derek Stuart stated, “Brandon earned the respect of his coaches and teammates with his impressive commitment and dedication to the Mustangs. It was rewarding to watch Brandon continuously get better as the year moved along which resulted in him being one of our best D-men in the playoffs.”
“I would like to sincerely thank the Calgary Mustangs organization and coaching staff for allowing me the opportunity to play my final year of Junior A in my home city. Most of all I would like to thank my family for all their support and encouragement throughout my hockey career. I have enjoyed my years of playing Junior hockey and I'm looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead at Concordia”, said Brandon Halls.
The Calgary Mustangs organization is very proud of Brandon and would like to congratulate him and his family on this accomplishment!
Brandon is the 6th Calgary Mustang to commit to a post-secondary institution this season joining Jared Van Ree – Mount Royal University (CIS), Connor Collett – Mount Royal University (CIS), Jamie King – Mount Royal University (CIS), Riley McDougall – UMass (NCAA) and Phelan Shaw – University of Minnesota-Duluth (NCAA).
