Vikings Head Coach, Blaine Gusdal, is also an AJHL alumnus as Head Coach of the Drayton Valley Thunder in 2006-2007. On the other end of the ice was the NAIT Ooks, a roster filled with AJHL Alumni, 20 in total!
The last time the Augustana Vikings won a Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference men’s hockey championship the year was 1974-1975. Pet rocks. Jogging. Disco. Lava Lamps.
Well at 10:15 p.m. on Friday the jinx was broken as the Vikings defeated the home town NAIT Ooks 3-2 in sudden death second overtime and can now say hello to a new century with a High Five to Wi-Fi
