Congratulations to the six AJHL alumni who won the 2026 NCAA Frozen Four Championship as members of the Denver Pioneers, including Team Captain Kent Anderson (Drumheller Dragons)!
Alumni include Rieger Lorenz, Boston Buckburger, Cale Ashcroft, Reid Varkonyi, Kent Anderson and Tournament MVP Johnny Hicks.
The Denver Pioneers are the 2026 national champions, defeating Wisconsin 2-1, in a third-period comeback in the Frozen Four championship game. It’s Denver’s 11th title in program history and third in five years, extending the Pioneers’ lead as the winningest team in DI men’s hockey history.
