The Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) today announced the 2019-20 Viterra All-League Teams. Players are selected through a voting process completed by the General Managers and Coaches of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
Viterra South Division All-League Team
- G Griffin Bowerman – Camrose Kodiaks

Viterra North Division All-League Team
- G Carter Gylander – Sherwood Park Crusaders
- D Adam Sandstrom – Whitecourt Wolverines
- D Michael Benning – Sherwood Park Crusaders
- F Lucas Thorne – Bonnyville Pontiacs
- F Arjun Atwal – Sherwood Park Crusaders
- F Carter Savoie – Sherwood Park Crusaders
The regular season champion Sherwood Park Crusaders dominated the North Division All-League Team with four players selected to the roster, which was rounded out with a single selection from both the Whitecourt Wolverines and Bonnyville Pontiacs. The South Division had representation from four different teams, including two from each the Okotoks Oilers and Brooks Bandits, and one player from the Camrose Kodiaks and Canmore Eagles.
Defenceman Tim Rego of the Brooks Bandits was selected to both the AJHL All-Rookie Team and All-League Team for 2019-20. Forwards Carter Savoie of the Sherwood Park Crusaders and Alex Young of the Canmore Eagles have been voted onto the AJHL All-League team for a second consecutive season.
AJHL MVP and Sherwood Park Crusaders Captain, Arjun Atwal, earned a spot on the North Division roster as did the three remaining League MVP Award Finalists (Lucas Thorne, Jack Works, Alex Young). The North Division All-League Team also includes two other 2019-20 AJHL Award Winners in Top Goaltender – Carter Gylander and Outstanding Defenceman ? Michael Benning.
Carter Savoie and Michael Benning of the North Division All-League Team were listed at #53 and #60 respectively in the NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings ahead of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The Crusaders duo was joined by Alex Young of the South Division All-League Team at the 2020 CJHL Prospects Game.
Six players named to the All-League Teams represented the AJHL and Canada in International competition throughout the season. Team AJHL participated in the 2019 Junior Club World Challenge in Russia with six All-League selections donning the AJHL logo (Carter Gylander, Michael Benning, Carter Savoie, Alex Young, Eric Parker, Griffin Bowerman). Four of these players were also members of Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge in December (Carter Gylander, Michael Benning, Carter Savoie, Alex Young).
