Spruce Grove Saints captain David Glen is chasing after his third consecutive Alberta Junior Hockey League Enerflex Cup.
The 21-year-old centre was originally called up during the playoffs four seasons ago by then-Spruce Grove coach Steve Hamilton. Glen went to Vimy Ridge Academy, where Hamilton was his teacher / coach.
“I developed later in my teenage years and wasn’t drafted by a Western Hockey League team,” Glen said Saturday in the lobby of Grant Fuhr Arena. “So playing junior A was a good path for me.”
The Saints downed the Fort McMurray Oil Barons 4-2 on Saturday in the second game of the North Division final. Spruce Grove leads the best-of-seven series 2-0.
