AJHL Hires Curtis Nichols as Supervisor of Officials

The Alberta Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce the hiring of Curtis Nichols as Supervisor of Officials.   In the newly created role, Curtis Nichols will be primarily responsible for the supervision of officials in the South Division, and will assist with video reviews and the overall rankings of AJHL officials.

Curtis Nicholsâ?? experience in officiating on and off the ice will assist the AJHL in achieving the next level with itâ??s officials and continue the leagueâ??s commitment to be a leader within the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL).

Curtis Nichols spent four years as Chairman of the Hockey Alberta Refereesâ?? Council and was a National Supervisor for four years.   Curtis has been an active on-ice official for 20 years, including 14 years as   an AJHL referee, during which time he officiated seven League Finals and five Doyle Cups.   He was also selected as a referee for the 2004 RBC Cup in Grande Prairie, AB.   Nichols has been the Supervisor of Officials at seven National Championships including the 2009 World Under 17 Challenge and the 2011 Royal Bank Cup.

The 2014-2015 AJHL Regular Season will open on September 5th, 2014 and conclude after 480 games on February 28th, 2015.   A complete League Schedule is available on the AJHL Website www.AJHL.ca.
