In a season with 80 goals, there are enough highlights to fill a book, but one tally stands out to Robin Laycock.
Of course, it’s the goal that broke the AJHL record for most in a single season.
Back in the winter of 1978, the Calgary Canucks forward was chasing down Ryan Wecker’s record of 79.
With two games left in the season, he took a puck off the foot, forcing him to sit out one night.
On the final night of the campaign, he went out hobbled, potted No. 80, and the rest is history.
