The renovated Max Bell Centre is a centrally located facility with a reputation for holding significant hockey events like the historical Circle K Classic and includes all the amenities to host scouts, teams and fans successfully. With an abundance of hotel options, an international airport to make travel easy for scouts and families, and never-ending attractions away from the rink, Calgary is the perfect city to host the AJHL Showcase and offer an incredible experience.
“As a second-year partner of the AJHL Showcase, we at Nutrien are excited to continue nurturing this relationship,” says Lori Free, VP of Talent and Organizational Development at Nutrien. “We’re driven by our culture of care, achieving our purpose of Feeding the Future and investing in our people. This partnership supports our intent to attract the best talent, as the league fosters youth development, community engagement, and excellence on and off the ice. Together, we are growing the next generation of leaders and athletes.”
For a second year, the Calgary Flames will be the official partner of the Showcase Scout Lounge, extending a longstanding relationship between the NHL franchise and AJHL’s Calgary Canucks. Scouts and coaches can register for the Scout Lounge and event through the AJHL Office. “Our Showcase Committee and volunteers hosted a very successful event last year, and I look forward to it being held again in Calgary this year. Hosting the AJHL Showcase for a second consecutive year is another testament that the Calgary Canucks organization is committed to providing first-class events for the AJHL, the City of Calgary and our players,” Calgary Canucks Head Coach and General Manager Brad Moran.
Friday, September 27th, will once again be a salute to and celebration of Indigenous culture with the continued partnership of the Siksika Nation. “Siksika Nation is honoured to continue our partnership with the Calgary Canucks. Our combined focus remains on providing opportunities for our youth to be engaged and supported in their broader community. This year, we are bringing back a celebration to the Max Bell Centre, expanding to both inside and outside of the arena and will conclude with a special ceremony before the Calgary Canucks vs Fort McMurray Oil Barons game at 7:15 p.m. You can expect traditional dancers, drummers, and other special guest appearances and performances,” says Chief Ouray Crowfoot.
“The Calgary Canucks are very proud to acknowledge our corporate sponsors for this celebration; Calgary Foundation, Cenovus Energy, BLG, Conifer Energy, FLINT, PTW Energy Services, Scott Land and Lease Ltd., TransAlta, Tourmaline, and the Calgary Flames,” adds Showcase Host Chair Lyle Peterman.
Attendees can also take in the U18 Canucks Showcase presented by Adrenalin Source for Sports with sponsorship from Tipping Point Wealth Management and Group 23 Sports Medicine. The event will run in conjunction with the AJHL Showcase and feature top talent from the AEHL and CSSHL leagues, with both the U18 and U17 divisions participating.
