The Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week is Brooks Bandits forward Devin Phillips.   Phillips led all AJHL skaters in scoring with ten points (2G, 8A) over three games from February 14th-20th, 2022.

Phillips (Raleigh, NC) recorded three multi-point games beginning with a goal and two assists in a 4-2 win on February 16th versus the Old Grizzlys.   Devin scored his fifth game winning goal of the season and received his fifth Viterra AJHL Star of the Game Award in the game.   On February 18th, the Bandits shutout the Okotoks Oilers 13-0 with Phillips posting a four point-game (1G, 3A).   The Bandits posted their fifth consecutive win with a 4-2 victory in Okotoks on February 19th as Phillips added three assists.

Phillips, 20, is in his third season with the Bandits and is fourth overall in the AJHL Scoring Race behind three of his teammates with 91 points (23G, 68A) in 45 games.   He is committed to Holy Cross Crusaders of the NCAA Division I.

The Bandits (51-5-2) have clinched first overall in the  Viterra AJHL South Division  to receive a bye through the first round of the 2022 Inter Pipeline AJHL Playoffs.

Eric Ward of the Drumheller Dragons is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week.   The Edmonton, AB goaltender earned a shutout and two Viterra AJHL Star of the Game awards as the Dragons locked up second place in the AJHL South Division.

With a 6-0 shutout of the Camrose Kodiaks on February 15th, Ward opened the week as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game with a 27-save performance.   He would earn his third consecutive Star of the Game award on February 17th with a 3-1 win over the Canmore Eagles, allowing just one goal on 30 shots.

Eric Ward is concluding his Junior A career following three AJHL seasons and currently ranks fourth among all goaltenders in the categories of GAA (2.49) and wins (23).

The Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week is Justin Barker of the Calgary Canucks following a career-high week.

Barker (Calgary, AB) scored two goals and five assists through three games to extend his active point streak to four games.   During a 6-4 loss to the Blackfalds Bulldogs on February 16th, Barker scored a goal and an assist and was awarded as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game for the tenth time this season.   On February 18th, Justin would score the game tying goal versus the Olds Grizzlys, but eventually the Canucks were defeated 3-2.   Calgary earned revenge on February 19th with a 6-4 win over Olds as Barker recorded a career-high four-point game with four assists.

The 19 year-old forward leads his hometown Canucks with 49 points (19G, 30A).
