All coach wants for Christmas is two shootout points

Jason McKee is probably a little old to be sending wish lists to Santa at this time of the year, but if there is one thing he’d like to find under the tree this Christmas morning, it would be a solution to his team’s shootout woes.

The Saints, who still sit atop the AJHL’s overall standings at the holiday break would be even farther in front than they are if they could figure out how to win games that go the overtime shootout route. You see, McKee’s team has lost seven overtime games this year, with more than half of those, five, in the shooter vs. goalie scenario. That means they’ve given up five extra points in the standings, something that could prove costly by the time all is said and done.
