CALGARY, Alberta – Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) alumni figured prominently when the 2014-2015 CIS Men’s Hockey award winners were handed out this past weekend in Halifax, NS.
Spencer Pommells an alumni of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) was named the CIS Player of the Year. Other major award winners were Jesse Craige (AJHL) who won Defensemen of the Year, Anthony Peters (OJHL) who won Goaltender of the Year, Elgin Pearce (BCHL) who won Most Sportsmanlike Player and Olivier Hinse (QJHL) who was awarded the Dr. Randy Gregg Award for hockey, academics and community service.
Additionally, a number of CJHL alumni were named as All-Canadians including 5 from the AJHL, 4 from the OJHL, 1 from each of the MHL and MJHL.
