RBC Royal Bank and the Alberta Junior Hockey League are very proud to announce the launch of a new initiative in support of local players and their communities. The RBC & AJHL Community Ambassador Program provides players with the opportunity to enhance skill sets for their future beyond their hockey career, an opportunity to engage with their communities and provide some much-needed funding to support community driven programs.

Teams nominate a RBC & AJHL Community Ambassador from their roster who they feel shows a keen interest in volunteerism, a passion for their community and will inspire their team members to contribute to the community in meaningful ways.  A $1,000 donation will be made from RBC on behalf of the selected ambassador in support of a Family and Community Support Services program in their community.

The RBC & AJHL Community Ambassadors are encouraged to continue their great work in the community by partnering with RBC branch staff and volunteer their time to a registered charity of their choice. The charity is then eligible for an additional $1,000 donation on behalf of RBC.

As part of this partnership, RBC is also offering financial literacy sessions to all AJHL players to help them make smart everyday financial decisions and work towards achieving their goals.

“AJHL and RBC recognize the importance of supporting players both on and off the ice,” says Ryan Bartoshyk, Commissioner, Alberta Junior Hockey League. “We’re confident the RBC & AJHL Community Ambassador Program will shine a spotlight on the important role these players play in their communities and provide them with valuable skills for their futures.”

RBC is proud to continue their support of amateur sport in communities across Canada. They’ve been partnered with AJHL for over 20 years and look forward to hosting the next RBC Royal Bank Game Nights across Alberta.
