The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are proud to announce that forward Ryan Arnold has committed to the University of Calgary Dinos Men’s Hockey program of U SPORTS for the upcoming season.
Arnold spent the past three seasons with the Oil Barons, establishing himself as one of the team’s top offensive players and leaders on and off the ice.
The 2005 born forward joined the Oil Barons ahead of the 2023-24 season and went on to appear in 143 regular season games with the organization, recording 130 career points through 60 goals and 70 assists. Arnold also served as an assistant captain during the 2025-26 season while finishing sixth in AJHL scoring with 68 points in 52 games.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to my teammates, coaches, billets, and the rest of the Oil Barons organization for everything over the past 3 seasons!” said Arnold. “The experiences and memories have turned Fort Mac into a second home, and I am truly grateful to have finished my Junior hockey in one of the best communities to play in front of!”
“We’re excited to see Arny earn this opportunity following the outstanding 20-year-old season he put together,” said Oil Barons Head Coach and General Manager Sam Klassen. “We’re grateful for the leadership he brought to our team this year through his work ethic, commitment, positive personality, and strong interpersonal skills. We wish him all the best as he begins his university career with the Dinos!”
