Bandits Aim to Raise $10,000 for Minor Hockey at Home Opener

Minor hockey kids get in for just $2

BROOKS, AB (September 12, 2016) – The Brooks Bandits are challenging the communities of Brooks and the County of Newell to help raise more than $10,000 for the Brooks Minor Hockey Association at the team’s upcoming home opener, presented by Chinook Financial, Friday September 16th at 7:00 PM against the Okotoks Oilers.

The Bandits are in the second year of an historic three-year partnership with Brooks Minor Hockey, which sees a portion of every adult ticket sold, as well as the entire team share of the 50/50 pot, donated to BMH. Last year, the home opener raised just under $9,000, the largest single donation in the history of Brooks Minor Hockey.

As an added incentive for hockey families to bring everyone out to the game, the Bandits are offering a special ticket price to any child registered in a minor hockey association in the region, with tickets just $2 for minor hockey kids.

A pre-game tailgate party will kick off the festivities at 5:30 PM in the parking lot of the Centennial Regional Arena, with warm sunny weather expected that evening. Food, a bouncy castle, and other fun activities are scheduled for the pre-game party.

The Bandits will also unveil their 2015-16 Alberta Junior Hockey League championship banner in a pre-game ceremony that night.

Tickets for the 2016 Brooks Minor Hockey Bandits Home Opener, presented by Chinook Financial, are available online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca, by phone at (403) 501-0122, and in-person at the Centennial Regional Arena.
