Bandits Ethan Barwick Commits to Lindenwood

BROOKS, AB – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are thrilled to announce goaltender Ethan Barwick has committed to Lindenwood University, the newest NCAA Division I hockey program, the club announced on Saturday.

Barwick, 19, has a 7-0 record in the 2022 AJHL Playoffs, with a goals against average of 1.91 and save percentage of .915, winning all four starts in the South Final, which the Bandits swept to qualify for the 2022 League Final.

“Ethan is very deserving of the opportunity with Lindenwood. He has gone through an impressive maturation process during his years in Brooks and has proven himself to be one of the best goaltenders in the league,” said Bandits Head Coach and GM, Ryan Papaioannou.

“He has an incredible win-loss record along with valuable experience dating back 4 seasons as an affiliate with our program. He will undoubtedly return as the top goalie in the AJHL for his final season before moving onto to Division 1 hockey at Lindenwood.”

During the 2021-22 season, Barwick led the AJHL in wins (33), shutouts (4) and goals against average (2.32) in 3 games played, posted a record of 33 wins, 4 losses and 1 overtime loss.

Since 2019, Barwick (St. Albert, AB) has started 60 games for the Bandits, including a 10-1 record during the COVID-shortened 2020-21 campaign.

Located in St. Charles, Missouri, the Lindenwood Lions are the newest NCAA Division I program, which will begin competing in 2022-23.
