Bandits Raise $6,000 in Heart & Stroke Jersey Auction

BROOKS, AB – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are proud to announce that a total of $6,159 was raised at the team’s annual charity jersey auction, benefiting this year’s charity of choice, the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

On Saturday, February 6th, the team wore special jerseys designed to feature the Heart & Stroke Foundation logo, with bids being placed on the arena concourse throughout the game. Bandit defenceman Cale Makar (Calgary, AB) had his jersey take the high bid at $780, while goaltender Josh Davies (Guelph, ON) was second at $700.

The donation was presented to the Heart and Stroke Foundation Area Manager for Southern Alberta, Josie Doll, by Bandits Manager of Marketing and Community Relations Jaime McIntosh in Medicine Hat earlier this week.

In all, Bandit fans raised more than 11% more funds this year as compared to last, when the team benefitted the ALS Society of Alberta in another successful charity jersey event.

The Bandit organization would like to thank the Heart and Stroke Foundation for helping to forge a great new partnership, and also express its gratitude to all Bandit fans who placed bids and helped support such a worthy cause.
