Bandits Sit 1-1 at Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup

The Nanaimo Clippers allowed the first goal of the game but answered back big time on their way to a 7-2 win when Brooks Bandits forward Anthony Paskaruk was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct.

The Clippers tallied three times on the extended power play with Kyle Kramer, Josh Bryan and Brenden Forbes doing the damage.

Another man advantage early in the second led to a Reid Sturos goal and Nanaimo took a 4-1 lead. They wound up 4/6 on the power play for the evening.

Greg Fraser made it 5-1 before RJ Reed replied for Brooks. Trevor Fitzgerald and Mason Mitchell had third-period markers for Nanaimo. 

Maddison Smiley's goal opened the scoring for Brooks in the first.

The Bandits (1-1) next play on Tuesday at 2 p.m. against Yorkton (2-0).

The Clippers (1-1) hit the ice again on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Surrey (0-1).
