Barker, MacFarlane and Beaudoin Earn AJHL Weekly Awards

Calgary Canucks captain Justin Barker is the Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week and teammate Jordan MacFarlane has been selected as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week.  Barker and Canucks alternate captain MacFarlane led their team on a three-game road trip last week, earning five of a possible six points with two wins and an overtime loss.

Forward Justin Barker (2002) compiled a seven-point week with four goals and three assists. Jordan MacFarlane (2002) led all AJHL defencemen in points last week with five points over three games.

The road trip began in Fort McMurray with the Canucks taking a 5-3 win over the Oil Barons on December 2^nd.  Barker scored the game winning goal and added an assist while MacFarlane recorded two assists including an assist on the game winner.

MacFarlane (East St Paul, MB) and the Canucks defence core held the highly offensive Saints to just three regulation goals on December 3^rd in Spruce Grove and he recorded another pair of assists.  Barker scored the game tying goal for his hometown Canucks to send the match to overtime, but the Saints would take the game with a 4-3 overtime win.

On December 4^th, the Canucks defeated the Camrose Kodiaks 7-4 to conclude their road trip.  Barker posted a season-high four-point game with two goals and two assists to earn the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game.  MacFarlane recorded his fifth assist of the weekend in the victory.

Bonnyville Pontiacs forward Nicolas Beaudoin is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.  The University of Alaska-Fairbanks commit scored four goals and three assists in three games over the week of November 28^th-December 4^th, 2022 to extend his multi-point game streak to six games.

Beaudoin (2004) opened the scoring then added an assist on November 30^th to earn the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game for his contributions in a 4-3 overtime win against the Spruce Grove Saints.  On December 2^nd, Nicolas also scored a goal and an assist as the Pontiacs fell short 4-3 to host Blackfalds Bulldogs.

Nicolas Beaudoin (St Paul, AB) and the Pontiacs closed the week with a 4-1 win versus the visiting Lloydminster Bobcats on December 4^th.  Beaudoin scored two goals, including his fifth game winning goal of the season, and added an assist for his sixth consecutive multi-point game and 16^th point over that span.

Beaudoin leads all rookies in scoring with 23 goals and is seventh among AJHL Scoring Leaders with 44 points (23G, 21A).  He was recently named the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month for November 2022.
