With the first round of the AJHL playoff in the books, the Fort McMurray Oil Barons are to take on their next challenge: the Lloydminster Bobcats.
The Bobcats set up the matchup after defeating the Whitecourt Wolverines 4-2 in game five of their first round series. The Spruce Grove Saints will face the Sherwood Park Crusaders in the other North Division semi-final, with that series set to get underway on Friday as well.
While the Bobcats are coming off a big win Wednesday night, MOB head coach Gord Thibodeau said he expects his team to be ready to face the Bobcats this weekend, despite having a few days of rest after eliminating the Drayton Valley Thunder.
