Nicolas Beaudoin of the Bonnyville Pontiacs is the Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week. The University of Alaska Fairbanks commit scored four goals, recorded seven points and earned two Viterra Star of the Game awards from November 7th-13th, 2022.
Beaudoin (St Paul, AB) scored two goals and an assist on home ice versus the visiting Drumheller Dragons on November 12th. He scored two goals again on November 13th versus the Okotoks Oilers and added two assists for a career-high four-point game. The 2004 forward has recorded a two-goal game in three of his last four games. Beaudoin also recorded the game winner versus Okotoks, his fourth of the season, and second in November.
Nicolas is second in team scoring and third in rookie scoring with 26 points (16G, 10A) in 23 games played. He has the most goals of all AJHL rookies and the third most overall in the AJHL. In mid-October, Beaudoin was recognized as the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week.
The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is Okotoks Oilers defenceman Nick Wolfenberg. With seven points (1G, 6A) in four games, Nick led all AJHL defencemen in scoring last week and is now eighth amongst AJHL defencemen with 19 points (6G, 13A) in 21 games.
The Oilers opened the week with a 7-4 win over the Blackfalds Bulldogs on home ice November 8th before heading on a three-game road trip through the Viterra AJHL North Division. Wolfenberg (Calgary, AB) posted three assists in the victory. The 2004-born blueliner scored a goal in Lloydminster on November 11th, recorded an assist in Fort McMurray on November 12th and added two assists in Bonnyville on November 13th as the Oilers finished the North swing with a record of 1-2.
Wolfenberg was previously awarded as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week for September 26th-October 2nd, 2022.
Olds Grizzlys defenceman David Clarke is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week after recording five points in two games for the Grizzlys.
Clarke (2003) started the weekend with two assists in a narrow 5-4 loss to the Calgary Canucks on Friday. He then added three assists in a 6-5 win over the Blackfalds Bullodgs on Saturday night, including an assist on the game winning goal.
Clarke (Tecumseh, MI) is among the Top Ten in AJHL rookie scoring with 16 points (2G, 14A) in 21 games.
