The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month is Whitecourt Wolverines Captain Jalen Bianchet. The AJHL scoring leader collected 18 points (12G, 6A) in eleven games through October and now sits at 32 points (21G, 11) in 16 regular season games.
The 2005-born forward recorded eight multi-point games and five multi-goal games in October. Bianchet was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game three times (twice on the road and once at home). Jalen also earned the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week award twice (October 6th-12, October 27th-November 2nd).
The third-year Wolverine has led his team to first place in the Bunge AJHL North Division with a record of 12-4. Jalen will be nominated by the Alberta Junior Hockey League for the CJHL 3 Stars of the Month Awards for October.
Devon Xtreme forward Ben Deacon has been selected for the newly created Adapt AJHL Rookie of the Month award. The 2007-born recorded ten points (5G, 5A) in eight October games and leads his team with 13 points (7G, 6A) in twelve games played.
Ben Deacon (St Albert, AB) was named as the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week after a five-point week from October 20th-26th. Throughout the month, he compiled a five-game points streak, including three multi-point games, and a game winning goal. Deacon was also recognized once in October as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game. He is currently tied for third in scoring among all AJHL rookies.
