2014 Evening of Champions

The Lloydminster Jr. ‘A’ Bobcats are once again hosting their formal event ‘Evening of Champions’ on Thursday, September 4th, at the Stockade Convention Centre.
This year the event will include former NHL’ers Chris Chelios and Jason Strudwick. The evening will also include Canadian comedian Andrew Grose.
Chelios is a 26 year NHL veteran who suited up for 1,651 games with Montreal, Chicago, Detroit and Atlanta. In his career Chelios won the James Norris Memorial Trophy 3 times as the league’s top defencemen and hoisted the Stanley Cup 3 times.
Strudwick compiled 631 games in his 13 NHL seasons with 5 teams. Drafted in the 3rd round, 63rd overall to the Islanders, Strudwick made stops with the Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, and the Edmonton Oilers. You can hear Jason Strudwick every weeknight as he hosts the Jason Strudwick show from 9 till midnight on TSN 1260 Edmonton.
Grose has over 20 years of live performances in comedy clubs, theatres and festivals. He has made his mark on national television in Canada with the Comedy Now Uncensored Special on The Comedy Network and countless television appearances from the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, The Halifax Comedy Festival and the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival. Andrew’s most recent work has him on 630 CHED where he co-hosts “The Tencer and Grose Show” every weekday from 9 until noon.
In it’s tenth year, ‘Evening of Champions’ is the Bobcats’ largest annual fundraiser. The dinner event signifies the beginning of hockey season in Lloydminster. This year’s major sponsors are Investor’s Group Miles Schiller, Quik Pick Waste Disposal, Range One Oilfield, and Bandit Pipeline. The evening will also include auctions and raffles for sporting and leisure events across the continent.
