Bobcats Force Game 7 with Home Win Against Oil Barons

Lloydminster vs Fort McMurray (series tied 3-3)

The Lloydminster Bobcats have done something that not a lot of people thought they would do and that is come back to force game seven with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

Both teams came out with opportunities early in the first period.

An extended delay to fix a pane of glass ended up hurting the Oil Barons as they would get into penalty trouble and hand the Bobcats a two man advantage.

The Bobcats would make the Oil Barons pay as Austin McDonald would redirect a shot behind Oil Barons goaltender Tanner Jaillet at 12:45.

Shortly after that the Bobcats would go up 2-0 as Linden Springer would fire the puck into the net behind Jaillet at the 14:00 of the opening period.

The Oil Barons would get into more penalty trouble later in the opening period and Lukas Biensch would capitalize as he snapped a shot behind Jaillet at 17:40 of the opening period.

Neither team would be able to light the lamp in the second period.

The Bobcats would keep the Oil Barons from getting opportunities in the third period as the Bobcats used the three first period power play goals to power themselves to a 3-0 victory and tie the series at 3-3.

Bobcats goaltender Christopher Tai would make 31 saves for his second shutout of the post season.

Oil Barons goaltender Tanner Jaillet made 21 saves in the loss.

Game seven between the two teams will be on Wednesday night in Fort McMurray.
