Bobcats Hire Ryan Parent as Head Coach

The Lloydminster Bobcats are pleased to announce the hiring of Ryan Parent as Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. A native of Saskatchewan, Parent comes to our organization from the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy in Kelowna, British Columbia where he has been coach of the Major Midget Prep team competing in the North American Prospects Hockey League in the U.S. and the Canadian Sport Schools League in Canada.

Parent holds a master’s degree in coaching (specific to the sport of hockey) from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic and a bachelor’s degree in sport performance from the University of Alberta. With a three year coaching background in Europe and a coaching career spanning more than 10 years here in Canada, his most recent posting at the Junior A level as an Assistant Coach with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, in the BCHL (2010-2011).

Ryan and fiancée Janine are excited to become members of the community of Lloydminster, “This is an awesome opportunity to invest into the lives of the players within the Bobcats organization and to immediately build towards a standard of excellence in the AJHL.”

Ryan will be in Lloydminster near the end of April, but has already started on the recruiting trail.

The Bobcats are very excited about having Ryan join the team. He comes very highly recommended and will provide leadership to the organization. His tireless work effort will ensure that all the players will be ready to play at the next level.
