The Jr. ‘A’ Bobcats Hockey Association, in partnership with Newcap Radio and 95.9 LLOYD FM, are hiring for the position of team broadcaster.
This position is responsible for covering the team’s radio play-by-play broadcast on 95.9 LLOYD FM of all 60 AJHL regular season hockey games as well as all playoff games. This position is also responsible for advertising sales associated with the broadcast, and support with other Bobcats marketing and communication.
Education and experience in radio broadcasting are both considered an asset. Multimedia production and editing skills are also considered an asset.
This job requires travelling with the team for all road games, so the successful applicant will be required to work weekends throughout the hockey season.
This position would also see the successful applicant work closely with Hockey Canada, the CJHL, and TSN in the successful planning and delivery of the 2016 RBC Cup taking place in Lloydminster.
The ideal candidate should possess:
– Excellent communication skills
– Marketing skills
– Working knowledge of radio production
– Working knowledge of video editing software
– A willingness to work weekends throughout the hockey season
