The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are thrilled to announce that 2001-born forward Brayden Krieger has committed to attend and play for the Bowling Green Falcons for the 2021-22 NCAA season.

Krieger currently leads all AJHL rookies in scoring with 85 points (32G, 53A) in 52 games, and is 4th overall in league scoring. He’s 4th in assists and 7th in goals league wide, and is 2nd on the Bandits in overall scoring.

?Brayden has been nothing less than a standout rookie this season,” said Bandits head coach and general manager, Ryan Papaioannou.

“Not only his point production but his ability to kill penalties and play big minutes has been a welcomed addition.”

The native of Elora, ON is in his first year with the Bandits. Earlier this week, he was announced as one of the four finalists for the AJHL Rookie of the Year Award.

“Brayden has a tremendous 10 foot game and his hockey IQ separates him from others with similar skill sets,” added Papaioannou.

“He?s been very diligent in this process over the last 5 months to come to a decision and we are happy for him to make this choice and excited for the next year to continue working on his game here in Brooks. Bowling Green is getting a fantastic person and player that is dedicated to his craft.”

Located in Bowling Green, Ohio, the Falcons compete in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) under head coach Ty Eigner. The Falcons earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 2019.

Krieger spent last season with the Listowel Cyclones of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) where he amassed 84 points in 48 games.
