SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce forward Brock Souch (’06) has committed to St. Cloud State University (NCAA Div. 1).
“I’m really excited to commit to such a strong program like St. Cloud State,” commented Souch. “This wouldn’t be possible without the support from my family, friends, teammates, and the entire Crusaders organization.”
“When I describe what a hockey player is to others, I am describing Brock Souch. He is dedicated to his craft and is in constant search to develop new elements in his game,” Crusaders head coach Evan McFeeters stated. “Brock is the youngest player in the AJHL this season and makes positive contributions to the team on a nightly basis. He’s proven to be competitive and focused learner who has progressed quickly. He is an important player for our team at only 16 years old and will eventually become an impact player with St. Cloud.”
“We could not be more proud and happier as an organization for Brock. He is a special individual who has come in as a 16 year old and established himself as an important player for us,” echoed general manager Adam Sergerie. “Through his hard work and determination, Brock is being rewarded by committing to a great program like St. Cloud State.”
Souch’s commitment is the 7th Division 1 commitment of the season for the Crusaders, joining Seamus Campbell, Cade Christenson, Carmelo Crandell, Derek Pys, Kiernan Gately and Tyler Miller.
“With 7 commitments so far, I think it is important to also acknowledge the work our staff has done with developing our players this year,” said Sergerie
The 2022/2023 season is Brock’s first as a Crusader. In his rookie season, Brock has collected a total of 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists) while helping the team to a fourth place finish in the North Division.
The Crusaders would like to congratulate Brock and the entire Souch family on his accomplishment.
