Bryant Commits to UMass-Boston

Whitecourt, AB – The Whitecourt Wolverines are pleased to announce that graduating forward Stevie Bryant has committed to the University of Massachusetts-Boston Beacons (NCAA, Div III) for the 2018/2019 season.

Bryant, from Edmonds, Washington, just completed his second and final season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Wolverines.  During his time in Whitecourt, Bryant played in 114 games scoring 22 goals and adding 46 assists.  He tacked on an additional 12 points in the post-season in 34 post-season games.

Prior to joining the Wolverines, Bryant played 100 games in the North American Hockey League with the Corpus Christi Ice Rays and Wenatchee Wild making him a veteran of more than 200 career junior hockey games.  He grew up playing his minor hockey in the Greater-Seattle area before playing his U-16 season with the Arizona Bobcats.

The UMass-Boston Beacons play in the New England Hockey Conference of the NCAA.  They are coached by Peter Belisle who will be entering his 13th season behind the Beacon’s bench in 2018/2019 and was named National Coach of the Year following the 15/16 season.  The team recently graduated forward Colin Larkin who was named the 2017-2018 Div. III National Player of the Year and has since signed with the Edmonton Oilers.

The entire Whitecourt Wolverines organization would like to congratulate Stevie and his family on his selection of UMass-Boston for his college experience and wish him all the best in his academics and athletics.
