Cale Makar Wins Conn Smythe Trophy, Avalanche Claim 2022 Stanley Cup

TAMPA, FL – Brooks Bandits alumnus Cale Makar has won the Conn Smythe Trophy and the Colorado Avalanche have won the 2022 Stanley Cup.

The Avalanche clinched the cup with a 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning, winning the series 4-2 on Sunday.

Makar was named Playoff MVP, just days after winning the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s Top Defenceman. Makar finished with 29 points (8G, 21A) in 19 games, finishing third in NHL Playoff scoring and first amongst defenceman.

Cale joins Bobby Orr and Nicklas Lidstrom as the only defenceman to win the Norris and Conn Smythe in the same season.

The Bandits congratulate Cale and the Makar family on this incredible feat.
