Calgary Canucks Reveal New Logos and Visual Identity Team

The Calgary Canucks Jr. A Hockey Club revealed a new logo and visual identity for the franchise today. The team has called Calgary home since 1971, and the changes reflect a brand that better represents the personality and strength of the Canucks.

The final logo is the result of an international design search that identified brand elements that specifically tied to Calgary, the Canucks, and hockey. Over 50 designers submitted more than 150 designs which were reviewed and ranked by Board Members and others associated with the team. The top 6 entries underwent additional refinement, and the final selection was made.

?Our new logo incorporates the origins of the team, while providing a character and personality for the franchise,? said Andrea Iervella, Vice-President Marketing and Promotions. ?The bull symbolizes strength and stamina, and purposefully ties in to the rich cattle and Stampede history of Calgary and area. We will continue to adorn the blue, green and white but with a deeper blue and more vibrant green.?

The team also released a set of secondary logos that will be used for various purposes ranging from patches, merchandise, and other promotional materials. One of the secondary logos prominently includes the Calgary Tower and reinforces the team?s commitment to the city.
