Tyson Jost scored once in regulation and got the winner in the shootout, as a result Canada West ended the preliminary round with a victory to set up an all-Canadian quarter-final. Sherwood Park Crusaders goaltender Tommy Nixon recorded the win in net for Team Canada West.
Wednesday's game will be the first time Canada East and Canada West meet in the quarter-finals.
