Goaltender Matt Tomkins of the Sherwood Park Crusaders is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week for the week of January 21st – 27th, 2013.
Tomkins stopped 98 of 101 shots faced in 140 minutes of action, including a 54-save performance in a victory over the Spruce Grove Saints. Tomkins posted a 1.29 GAA and a .970 save percentage over the week and was named the Pro Hockey Life Player of the game in both of his starts.
Matt Tomkins is an 18 year-old from Sherwood Park, AB and is committed to Ohio State of the NCAA. He was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
