The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is Ambrose Firkus of the Okotoks Oilers. Firkus scored 8 points in 3 games (2 goals, 6 assists), including two 4 point games. He scored the game winning goal on February 11th versus Olds and was selected as the Pro Hockey Life Player of the Game on February 14th against the Canmore Eagles.
Ambrose Firkus (Irma, AB) joined the Okotoks Oilers in December 2013, and has since scored 27 points in 21 games. He leads the Oilers with 1.3 points per game. The 19 year-old forward has committed to the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Firkus and the Oilers are tied for second place in the AJHL South Division with 69 points and are 7-3-0 in their last ten games. The Oilers have just five regular season games remaining.
