Fort McMurray Oil Barons goaltender, Zach Fortin, is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week for the first week of December 2014. Fortin posted a 3-0 record over the week and turned away 100 of 105 shots on goal to record a 1.67GAA and .952SV%. Zach was awarded as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game in a victory over the Brooks Bandits on December 6th.
Zach Fortin has now recorded 4 consecutive victories for the Oil Barons. The 19 year old from St Jerome, QC is in his first AJHL season and is 4th amongst AJHL goaltenders for most minutes played. Fortin is also 8th overall with a save percentage of .921.
The Oil Barons are 8-2-0 in their last 10 games and sit 3rd overall in the Viterra AJHL North Division with 41 points.
