The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is Spruce Grove Saints forward Austin Parmiter. In two games from November 27th – December 3rd, Parmiter scored 3 goals and 3 assists and was selected as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game both nights.
Austin Parmiter (Edmonton, AB) recorded a goal and an assist in the Saints’ 4-1 win over the Lloydminster Bobcats on Friday, then added 2 goals and 2 assists in a 9-3 triumph over the Drayton Valley Thunder on Saturday. His performance led to back to back Viterra Star of the Game awards and moved him up to third in team scoring.
The 20 year-old has 19 points (8 goals, 11 assists) in the regular season, the highest point total of his three previous AJHL seasons. Parmiter has assembled a four-game point streak alongside the Saints four-game winning streak. Spruce Grove is currently tied with Fort McMurray for first place in the AJHL North Division Standings.
The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is goaltender Logan Dyck of the Canmore Eagles. The rookie goaltender was 2-1-0 last week for the Eagles, including his first AJHL shutout.
Logan Dyck (Calgary, AB) posted a 1.1 GAA and .962 SV% over three games last week and turned away 75 of 78 shots on goal. His week began with a 4-1 victory over the Calgary Mustangs on Tuesday, November 28th. On Friday night, the Eagles fell just short in a 5-4 loss to Camrose, with Dyck finishing out the game in net and allowing just two goals against. On Saturday night, Logan Dyck stopped all 29 shots on goal to earn the shutout victory over the Kodiaks.
Logan Dyck, 18, is 5-3-1 in his rookie season with the Eagles. Canmore is 4-6-0 in the last 10 games and fifth in the AJHL South Division Standings.
