On Thursday, October 12th, Conley picked up the Viterra Star of the Game Award with 2 goals, including the game winning goal, in a 3-2 victory over the Canmore Eagles. Fort McMurray continued their South Division road trip in Okotoks on Friday night, where Conley recorded two assists as the Oil Barons handed the Oilers their first loss of the season. The trip ended in Olds with a 5-0 win for the Oil Barons and Conley’s fourth goal of the week. He leads the team in scoring with 16 points (11 goals, 5 assists) and an average of 1.3 points per game.
Will Conley (Strathmore, AB) is riding a 5-game point streak totaling 8 points. Conley, 19, is a three-year veteran of the Oil Barons, and is committed to Holy Cross of the NCAA Division I.
Calgary Canucks goaltender Caiden Kreitz is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week after a 3-0 week in the Canucks net. Kreitz faced 89 shots, allowing just 5 goals in 3 games, and posted a 1.68 GAA over the week.
Kreitz (Calgary, AB) opened the week with a divisional win over the Drumheller Dragons on Tuesday night. The Canucks took to the road on the weekend for two North Division match ups, where Kreitz would steal a win in Bonnyville on Friday and Lloydminster on Saturday.
The 19 year-old goaltender is a third year Canuck and has a 4-3-0 record in his first 8 regular season games.
