Crusaders forward Tyler Maltby is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week. The 20 year-old alternate captain scored 8 points (4G, 4A) in three games last week as the Crusaders extended their latest winning streak to 5 games.
On November 9th, Maltby earned the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game Award with 2 goals in a win over Drayton Valley, then recorded a 4-point game on November 12th in a win against the Whitecourt Wolverines. He ended the week with 2 points on November 13th in another victory versus the Thunder.
Tyler Maltby (Sherwood Park, AB) leads the AJHL Scoring Race with 20 goals, 16 assists and 36 points. He has scored the most goals of all AJHL players and is averaging a league leading 1.6 points per game. The third year AJHL veteran is committed to Arizona State University.
The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is Calgary Canucks goaltender Logan Drackett. The hometown boy recorded 3 consecutive wins for the Canucks versus South Division opponents over the week of November 7th – 13th.
Logan Drackett, 18, stopped 61/63 shots in three games played and posted a shu tout win last week to earn the weekly honours. Drackett was awarded the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game Award for his shut out performance on November 9th versus the Camrose Kodiaks.
Drackett is 14-5-1 in the regular season and sits in the Top 8 of all AJHL goaltenders with a 2.49 GAA and .905 Save Percentage. He recently committed to the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
The Calgary Canucks are tied for 1st place in the Viterra AJHL South Division with 33 points and are on a 3 game win streak following last week.
