The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is Olds Grizzlys forward Chase Olsen. The rookie scored 8 points (4G, 4A) in 3 games played during the week of October 26th – November 1st, 2015.
Chase recorded a 4 point game on October 30th versus Canmore including the OT game winner. He followed up with a 3 point performance and the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game award on October 31st in a win over Drumheller. The Olds Grizzlys won three consecutive games last week.
Chase Olsen leads his hometown Grizzlys in scoring with 25 points and an average of 1.4 points per game. The 18 year-old is 6th in the AJHL Scoring Race and 1st overall amongst AJHL rookies.
Tanner McCorriston of the Whitecourt Wolverines is the Alberta Ford Dealers Goalie of the Week. Tanner was 2-0 last week after stopping 45 of 47 shots and recorded his second shutout of the season. The 20 year-old goalie posted a .957 SV% and 1.0 GAA over the week.
McCorriston (St. Albert, AB) is in his third AJHL season, and second season with the Wolverines. He is 9-3-3 in the regular season and 4th overall amongst AJHL goaltenders with a 2.22 GAA. He has played the 2nd most minutes in the League (917 MP).
The Whitecourt Wolverines are on a 3 game winning streak and are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games.
