The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is forward Cody Laskosky of the Camrose Kodiaks.   In three games from January 27th ? February 1st, Cody scored 3 goals and added 4 assists to lead all AJHL scorers with 7 points.

The Kodiaks began the week with a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Drumheller Dragons as Laskosky picked up this 12th Viterra AJHL Star of the Game award with the only Camrose goal.  The weekend started much better for Camrose when they recorded a 6-2 win over the Calgary Canucks in a 3-point game (1G, 2A) for Laskosky.  Cody would repeat his performance the next night with a goal and two assists in a 5-2 victory versus the Drayton Valley Thunder.

Laskosky, 20, is on a five-game point streak and leads his team in scoring with 68 points (30G, 38A).  The fourth year AJHL vet also received the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week award in the opening week of the 2019-2020 season.

Cody Laskosky (New Norway, AB) is committed to RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) for the 2020-2021 season.

The Camrose Kodiaks are 5-5-0 in the last 10 games and hold fourth spot in the Viterra AJHL South Division.

Whitecourt Wolverines goaltender Connor Ungar has replaced teammate Vincent Duplessis as this week?s Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week.   The Wolverines duo have led the Wolverines to an eight-game win streak to enter February with Ungar recording three consecutive wins last week.

Connor Ungar, 18, posted his first two AJHL shutouts last week and was rewarded as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game for both.  The rookie goaltender stopped all 24 shots versus the Grande Prairie Storm on January 28th in a 1-0 win.  On January 31st, he would allow just one goal on 31 shots to defeat the Lloydminster Bobcats 3-1.  The following night, Connor perfected his performance against that same Bobcats team to post a 1-0 shutout with a 32-save performance.

Ungar (Calgary, AB) was 6-0 through January with six consecutive wins since the New Year.  With a record of 7-4-1 since joining the team in November, Ungar has compiled a 2.54GAA and .923 save percentage.

The streaking Wolverines are fourth in the Viterra AJHL North Division with 10 regular season games remaining.
