Canucks Confirm Head Coach Darryl Olsen and Announce Organization Changes

The Calgary Canucks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League have confirmed the appointment of Darryl Olsen as Head Coach of the team.

Pat Loyer (Governor, President, and General Manager Calgary Canucks) has resigned from the Board and his positions with the Calgary Canucks and AJHL Board of Governors effective today. Pat is leaving the club for personal reasons at a time that coincides with his retirement from the Calgary Fire Department. Pat Loyer has worked tirelessly over the past three years to revive the fortunes of the Calgary Canucks and for this the Board, team and fans will always be grateful. We wish Pat all the best in his retirement and in whatever the future holds for him. The Calgary Canucks will not be filling the President and General Manager position at this time. Coach Darryl Olsen will assume responsibility for the Calgary Canucks roster and day-to-day team operations. The Board has also accepted the resignation of Bob Loucks who has provided invaluable hockey knowledge to the team over the past three years.

The Calgary Canucks are pleased to announce that Sandy Edmonstone will assume the role of Governor on the AJHL Board of Governors representing the Calgary Canucks. Bill Andrew will continue as Alternate Governor.

Full details on the Board reorganization are available on the Calgary Canucks website.
