Canucks Hire Doug Hergenhein as Head Scout / Director of Player Personnel

The Calgary Junior A Canucks are pleased to announce the hiring of Doug Hergenhein as Head Scout and Director of Player Personnel. Doug possesses extensive experience in the AJHL as a Coach, Scout and Administrator and has a proven track record at recruiting players.

Doug Hergenhein was most recently the Assistant General Manager / Head Scout of the Fort McMurray Oil Barons from 2009-2015.  He has also served as General Manager / Director of Operations for the Drumheller Dragons (2006-2007), and Head Scout / Director of Scouting for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons (2005-2006).  During his time as Head Coach of the Calgary Royals from 2000–2005, the Royals made the playoffs every year under his reign and in 2002 he was runner-up for the AJHL Coach of the Year Award.

Doug brings over 40 years of playing and coaching experience and success at all levels.  Doug has worked with and mentored NHL players including Dany Heatley and Mike Green.  Doug’s  Philosophy is to teach players good sportsmanship, to respect others on and off ice. Encourage work ethic and to develop the players to play at the next level.

Doug will start work immediately and the Canucks are excited to have Doug join the organization.
