CJHL Alumni Bring Home the Hardware in the NCAA

CALGARY, Alberta – This year has been a tremendous year for CJHL alumni in the NCAA. Ten former CJHL players were honoured by the NCAA as 1st and 2nd Team East / Team West All-Americans.  

Former Alberni Valley Bulldog Jeffrey Reppucci was also honoured with the NCAA Hockey Humanitarian Award winner for 2013 – 2014.   Jeffrey Reppucci played defense for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL in 2009 – 2010.  He played 27 games scoring 2 goals, 8 assists for 10 points along with 28 penalty minutes.

“It‘s great to see our alumni doing so well at the NCAA level.  Congratulations to these players and congratulations to our CJHL member leagues for doing such a tremendous job in preparing their players to move on to the next level of hockey”, said CJHL Executive Director, Rick Morocco.

The American Hockey Coaches Association and CCM announced the 2014 NCAA All-American teams as well.  CJHL alumni were represented very well with 10 players being honoured on the 1st and 2nd All-American East and West Teams.

The following represents the CJHL Alumni honoured by the NCAA.

1st Team All-American East

  •     Defense, Mat Bodie – MJHL/BCHL
  •     Forward, Greg Carey – OJHL

2nd Team All-American East

  •     Defense,  Ben Hutton – CCHL
  •     Forward, Devin Shore – OJHL
  •     Forward, Daniel Carr – AJHL

1st Team All-American West

  •     Goalie, Sam Brittain – AJHL
  •     Defense, Mike Reilly – BCHL

2nd Team All-American West

  •     Defense,  Joey Laleggia – BCHL
  •     Defense, Colton Parayko – AJHL
  •     Forward, Cody Kunyk – AJHL

 

The WCHL handed out it‘s awards naming Cody Kunyk (AJHL) as the WCHL Player of the Year while Colton Parayko (AJHL) was named WCHL Defensive Player of the Year.  Additionally, Alex Globke (CCHL) was named as the WCHL Rookie of the Year.
