CALGARY, Alberta – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) season is just around the corner as most CJHL leagues have started their training camps over the past week.  The exhibition season is already in full swing across the country as the excitement builds for the opening weekend of the CJHL season.

The 2016–2017 CJHL regular season kicks off the weekend of September 3rd in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) with their annual Showcase Weekend.  The following weekend five CJHL leagues including the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), Quebec Junior Hockey League (QJHL), Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL), Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) and Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) start their league play.

This year will include more games and events across Canada, including eleven Showcase Weekends, three Regional Championships, one Eastern Canadian All-Star event, the CJHL Prospect Game and the RBC Cup National Junior A Championship.  Each event provides CJHL players with excellent development and exposure opportunities for advancement in front of the scouting community as well as the media and fans of the CJHL throughout Canada.
