Congratulations Don!

On Tuesday night, AJHL President Craig Cripps and CJHL Chairman Kirk Lamb presented Calgary Canucks Coach Don Phelps with a Silver Puck in honour of his upcoming retirement. Don Phelps first began his AJHL coaching career with the Drumheller Falcons in 1974. He is one of only three coaches to win a League Championship as both a player and a coach. Don Phelps has coached in over 1,500 regular season games throughout his career and leads all AJHL coaches in Games Coached and Wins.

Several AJHL teams have paid tribute to Don Phelps at games throughout the season, including the Canmore Eagles, Drumheller Dragons and Grande Prairie Storm.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League and Canadian Junior Hockey League are honoured to recognize Coach Don Phelps for his commitment to the athletes of the Alberta Junior Hockey League over the past four decades. Congratulations Don Phelps on an outstanding career and thank you from the alumni, players, fans and members of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
