The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce that 20 year old defenceman Mason Conway (Foremost, AB) has committed to attend and play for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns in the Canada West Division of the C.I.S. (Canadian Interuniversity Sports) for the upcoming 2010-2011 season.
Mason just completed his junior career posting 7 goals and 22 assists in 57 games during the 2009-2010 season. His offensive play, strong physical presence and his ability to contribute in all situations were very important in the Oil Barons' long playoff run this year. Mason was recognized for his play by being a part of the North Division in last year's All-Star game.
The Oil Barons organization would like to congratulate Mason and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically.
Mason becomes the 5th Oil Baron from last year to secure a commitment from a post-secondary institution.
