The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month is Arjun Atwal of the Sherwood Park Crusaders. The 19 year-old centre scored 21 points, including 6 goals and 15 assists in 10 games for the Crusaders and lifted the team to an 8-2 record through February 2019.
Atwal (Edmonton, AB) recorded points in eight of ten February games, six of which were multi-point performances, and recorded a career high 5-point game on February 23rd with 2 goals and 3 assists versus Drayton Valley. He also picked up three Viterra AJHL Star of the Game awards during the month.
Arjun is third in team scoring with 62 points (23G, 39A) and 15th overall in the AJHL scoring race entering the final weekend of the regular season. Atwal has averaged 1.6 points per game in a season shortened by injury. This is Atwal’s third season with the Cru.
Atwal and the Crusaders have captured first place in the Viterra AJHL North Division to earn a first-round bye in the 2019 Inter Pipeline AJHL Playoffs.
