SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the hiring of Adam Sergerie as the organization’s President of Operations.
“I’m incredibly happy to be joining the Sherwood Park Crusaders,” commented Sergerie. “Adam and Jeff have done a fantastic job building the Crusaders into one of Canada’s premier junior A programs. I’m excited to be joining the organization and helping to take it to the next level both on-and-off the ice.”
“Hockey is evolving and Adam with his deep understanding of hockey combined with his personal hockey experience and his passion, will ensure the Crusaders stay at the forefront of this movement in hockey,” stated Crusaders President Kevin Love. “Adam will assist with the on-ice development plans while boosting the players overall development off the ice and within the Community.”
Sergerie began his career in hockey on the ice, playing four years for the Selkirk Steelers of the MJHL. After a brief stint with the IHL’s Muskegon Fury, Sergerie attended Lakehead University, playing five seasons with the University’s Men’s Hockey Team and captaining them for his final two. Sergerie concluded his on-ice career playing two years of hockey in Germany for Oberliga East, where he was recognized as the league’s Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons.
In addition to his on-ice success, Sergerie has been involved with both sports and education throughout his time in hockey. While at Lakehead University, Sergerie earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees and began teaching following his time with Oberliga East. Sergerie was also active in coaching both prior-to and following his time at University. In 2015, Sergerie was hired as the Assistant Coach of the KC Centennials Minor Midget AAA program, beginning a tenure with the KC program that saw him earn the roles of Head Coach for both the KC Pats and KC Squires AAA programs. In 2019, Sergerie was named the EMHA Coach of the Year, AMBHL North Division Coach of the Year, as well as being recognized with the KC Hockey Merit Award that same year. His success as a coach saw him earn the role of Director of Coach and Player Development in 2020.
